Student Sabbaticals

Each year, the BMCB Graduate Program provides funds for one graduate student year to be spent away from the University of Arizona. The stipend funds are awarded on a competitive basis by the Student Sabbatical Committee. In general, the goal of the program is to allow students to explore post-graduate school career options. For example, students may use this support to serve as interns in industrial environments, in potential post-doctoral laboratories, or in other ways that meet with the approval of the Committee. Recipients must remain registered students at the University of Arizona and may not otherwise be employed during the sabbatical period. Support may be assigned as a single twelve-month award, two six-month awards to two students, three four-month awards to three students, and so forth.
